It depends on whether you are registered as an employee or or as self employed.
Employers have to provide a workplace pension scheme for eligible staff as soon as as they start working for you.
So, if you’re employed by your company, irrespective of whether you’re the only employee, you must make a company pension scheme available for yourself.
If you’re self employed you should also look at your retirement planning.
There will always be a level of admin involved but this does not need to be too onerous. Most providers will offer plenty of guidance and try to make it as easy for you as possible.
